Introducing Westgate Basketball’s newest program the Imperials Academy

The Westgate Imperials Academy is designed for players in U10s through to U14s (Born in years 2012 through to 2007), who are looking to improve their game!

The Academy is a term by term program, which will focus on individual skill development in an aim to prepare them to play higher level basketball (Participants may want to play representative basketball in the future, or perhaps they just want to improve their skills for their domestic games, whatever the reason, all are welcome).

The Academy sessions will focus on fundamental skills such as ball-handling, shooting, footwork and much, much more.

The sessions have been designed by Westgate Director of Coaching David Maddock and Head Coach of U12s & U14s program Kim Dalmau.

The sessions will be delivered by Imperials coaches and senior players, lead by Olivia Dalmau.  Olivia is currently coaching U12.2 Imperials girls, and playing Big V Basketball for Coburg in 2020.  Olivia is well equiped to coach the Academy, as in 2019 she was her team captain, 1st in League for assists, 2nd in league for steals and in 2019 & 2018 nominated for the Big V All Star Five.
