Unlike most other junior sports, basketball is played all year round, so by sponsoring the Westgate Basketball you will get greater return from your investment. 

During the forty-week basketball season, over 500 games are played by Westgate Imperials basketball teams across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. Throughout the year many thousands of people visit our home stadiums at Braybrook RecWest, and at the VU Community Stadium at Whitten Oval.  

Families, friends and volunteers watch our teams play on Friday nights, Saturdays and at tournaments during the school holidays in stadiums across the state.  Your business will get exposure, building brand awareness for you, from our players, parents, families, friends and spectators who attend matches our matches or visit our home stadium.

Most junior games are attended by parents, families and friends of both sides.  Club apparel sponsorship gets exposure at both home and away.

The Westgate Imperials Basketball Club has 26 representative teams in the Victorian Junior Basketball League. The VJBL is the largest junior basketball league in Australia. Encompassing over 1,200 clubs, with thousands of junior and senior teams and registered players.

Our domestic association, Westgate Basketball Association, has over 1,400 players and coaches and over a thousand families, club supporters and volunteers from the Inner West of Melbourne.

Our Aussie Hoops Program is the largest and most successful in Melbourne with over 200 5 to 10 year olds learning the skills and rules of basketball and having fun at the same time.

Westgate is experiencing significant growth, with an increase of 15% per annum in junior registrations over each of the last two years.

Established in 2010, the Westgate Imperials Basketball Club has committed itself to providing a vibrant, enjoyable and well organised basketball that is inclusive and accessible to communities in the Inner West.  Westgate Imperials is a family club with an emphasis on getting parents involved in their children’s activities.

The Westgate Imperials Basketball Club considers all sponsorship as an integral part of our organisation and ensures a strong future for both our players and families. Your sponsorship will directly invest in this development of our players, coaching staff and volunteers, including:

• Maintaining Affordable Membership Fees

Westgate prides itself on offering the most affordable membership fees possible, especially for junior members. Attracting and maintaining members is vital to the growth and success of our club. Minimising the cost of membership makes the Westgate Imperials Basketball Club a more viable option for a wider range of participants across all age groups and abilities.

• Facilities Development

We are embarking on an ambitious program to source new facilities over the next 5 years. The first project is an improvement of our match day facilities at RecWest Braybrook. The project is for the benefit of current and future players, our volunteers, spectators and all visiting spectators.

• Player & Coaching Development

Your sponsorship will directly influence the development of players of all abilities and will help with coaching programs and specialist training sessions.

• Westgate Imperials Young Women’s Leadership - ‘This Girl Can’ 

Westgate is partnering with Basketball Victoria and VicHealth to support more Victorian women and girls to get active. 

With the support of sponsorship funding, Westgate will promote gender equality and increase the profile of women’s sport by subsidising membership fees for young women in our representative basketball teams, and by promoting the This Girl Can – Victoria campaign to our families and community.

Sponsorship Options

All sponsorship packages are available on an annual basis. Platinum Packages include apparel sponsorship which is locked in for two years. Renewal options for are offered at the conclusion of the sponsorship period.  We can also work with you to tailor an option to your needs.

Signage and club apparel

Billboard advertising or club apparel sponsorship make an instant impression, getting your message across in seconds. Billboards or club apparel sponsorship enable advertisers, large or small to reach captive audiences every day. 

Westgate has a number of signage options available and can offer advertisers a platform to create advertising that makes an impact, helping build your brand and driving sales through high-impact, large-format signage.   We will work with you to get your message ready.  All maintenance and installation of the signs will be taken care of for you.  (Please note that Westgate reserves the right restrict certain types of advertising.)
